Today is the first day of a week long holiday during which people eat blini every day for a week. We don't get off school.
I went bowling yesterday with AFS friends, sort of for my birthday. That was really fun. It's basically the same as bowling in the U.S. -- just cleaner.
I have been in three Russian homes so far and in all of them the TV was on the whole time. family gatherings, parties, hanging out with friends, tv is always on

My kid's favorite breakfast is blini made by their Baba! What did you think of it? Did you eat it with anything on it (jelly, sour cream, maple syrup)???
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!!
Sounds like their family time is much like Americans ... TV, TV and more TV :c)
ReplyDeleteI have only eaten it plain, but it's full of russian oat yogurt or meat. I don't know if that is usually how they are served or not.
ReplyDeleteYeah, a lot of Russians joke about how americans are fat and always watch TV but I would be willing to bet that the tv is on more in a novocheboksarsk home than in an average american one.
